The most efficient treatment for the widest openings.
Vertical blinds use individual fabric or vinyl vanes that hang from a top track and rotate together for light control, traverse left, right, or split-center for view. They are still the most efficient window treatment for sliding patio doors, French doors, wide bay windows, and oversized commercial openings. The 1990s vinyl-rental version gave them a bad name, but modern fabric vanes and S-curve sculpted vanes read as current and architectural. We have installed verticals into Georgia and Alabama sliders since 1996.

The most durable and most affordable vane material. Will not fade or warp under direct sun. Standard whites, creams, and a range of solid colors. 10-year vane warranty. The right choice for high-use sliders and commercial spaces.
Fabric Vanes
Soft fabric vanes in 50+ patterns and colors. Reads as a curtain when stacked, as a shade when closed. 5-year vane warranty. The right choice for residential sliders where the vertical needs to coordinate with the room's existing textiles.
S-Curve Vanes
Sculpted profile vanes that hold a permanent curve, reads more upscale than flat vinyl or fabric. Available in vinyl and fabric. The right choice for modern residential design where the vertical is part of the architectural language.
Cordless Wand Control
Standard cordless wand for traverse and tilt control. No cords, no chains, no strangulation risk. We have not sold corded vertical systems for residential applications in over a decade.
Cassette Valance
Optional valance hides the top track and reads more architectural than the bare track. Available in matching or contrasting finish. Adds $4 to $8 per linear foot.
Split-Center Traverse
Vanes traverse from the center out to both sides, useful for double sliders and French doors where the operating panel is in the middle. We coordinate the traverse direction with the door operation at install.
Motorization
Somfy motors integrate into the vertical track to traverse the vanes. Most common on commercial spaces, wide residential sliders, and Lake Lanier lake-house wide openings. See motorization.
Triple-Track for Wide Sliders
For openings wider than 12 feet, a triple-track configuration carries the vane weight without sag. Standard double-track handles up to 12 feet; triple-track handles up to 24 feet.

A standard 8-foot patio slider runs roughly $350 to $700 in vinyl, $500 to $900 in fabric. A 12-foot triple-track slider runs $700 to $1,500. Motorization adds $200 to $400 for the motor.
