The project
Sunset Hills, Carrollton.
A Sunset Hills 1920s bungalow with original deep-set window casings. The previous owner had taped up 1990s vinyl mini-blinds; the new owners wanted something that respected the bungalow's craftsman bones. We measured the deep-set openings, specified 2.5 inch basswood blinds in a warm stain for the main windows, and added bamboo woven Romans on the front bay so the curb appeal would read as soft and natural rather than flat slats.

Bamboo woven Romans, top-down bottom-up
On the front bay where curb-appeal privacy matters. The top-down option lets the homeowner block the streetside view without losing the upper window's afternoon light.
