A Chapel Hill new-construction kitchen with a 60 inch sink window over a bay. The builder had left the openings clear; the homeowners wanted a clean white treatment that would forgive the splash and steam of an active kitchen. We specified composite shutters in 3.5 inch louvers across all four kitchen openings, chosen for the easy-clean surface and moisture resistance.

Chosen over basswood because the kitchen sees daily splash and steam; composite cleans with a damp cloth and does not warp.
3.5 inch louvers, hidden tilt rod
The wider louver suits the 60 inch sink-window's scale; hidden tilt rod keeps the view to the back yard uninterrupted.
White finish to match builder trim
Color-matched on the builder's spec sheet so the trim and the shutters read as one piece.
