The project
Buckhead, Atlanta.
The homeowners had inherited a classic Buckhead dining room with three arched windows and three sets of dated heavy fabric drapes that fought the chandelier and made the space dim. We measured the arches, fabricated 3.5 inch louver poly shutters in white, and used sunburst pattern tops to follow the curve of each opening. The transformation gives the space refined natural light all day, and the louvers tilt for sun control on the hot Atlanta afternoons that come straight through the south-facing wall.

Three custom arched shutter panels
Templated to the existing arch radii; sunburst tops anchored to the arch peak.
3.5 inch louvers in poly
Chosen for the dining room because poly resists humidity from the adjacent kitchen and cleans without yellowing over time.
White finish, hidden tilt rod
The clean white aligns the shutter with the room's existing trim; hidden tilt rod keeps the sightline through the louvers uninterrupted.
