Project case study, Cartersville
Rustic shutters, Cartersville living room
Etowah Riverwalk, Cartersville. Plantation Shutters in basswood, espresso stained. From measure to install in 5 weeks, 1 day on site.
The project
Etowah Riverwalk, Cartersville.
An Etowah Riverwalk farmhouse with an open living room and two double-hung windows paired with arched transoms above. The homeowner wanted to keep the rustic stained-wood ceiling beams the visual anchor, which meant the window treatments had to step back rather than dominate. We specified basswood shutters in espresso stain, 3.5 inch louvers, with custom-templated arched panels above the double-hung pairs.
What we installed
Three details that made the install.
Basswood shutters, espresso stain
Matched as closely as possible to the existing ceiling beam stain; basswood was chosen over composite because the stain reads richer on real wood.
3.5 inch louvers
Sized to the modestly scaled openings; wider would have overpowered the panel proportion.
Custom-templated arched tops
Two arched panels above the double-hung pairs, fixed but with operable louvers. Templated on site.
