Comfortex was founded in 1984 in Maplewood, New York, and built its reputation on the Symphony honeycomb cellular shade, which became one of the standard value-tier energy-efficient shade products in the US market through the 1990s and 2000s. Hunter Douglas acquired Comfortex in 2011, and the brand now operates as a distinct product line under the Hunter Douglas manufacturing umbrella. The Symphony name and the original honeycomb construction principle continue, with Hunter Douglas-grade manufacturing quality and warranty terms behind them.
We have carried Comfortex since the original brand independence days and continue to spec Symphony cellular and Comfortex pleated shades on projects across Greater Atlanta where energy efficiency matters but the budget does not justify the Hunter Douglas Duette flagship. Lifetime on cellular construction
The Comfortex cellular construction, frame, headrail, and cordless mechanism carry a lifetime limited warranty against material defects and manufacturing failure. The warranty is for the life of the original purchaser at the original install address. Hunter Douglas-grade quality standards apply.
Fabric warranty terms
Symphony fabrics carry a 3 to 7 year warranty against fade, color migration, and fiber failure depending on the specific fabric line. The longer-warranty fabrics are typically the woven and textured options; the lighter sheer fabrics carry the 3-year term. We walk every customer through the fabric warranty at consultation.
Motorization warranty
Symphony motorized configurations carry the motor manufacturer's warranty: 5 years on Somfy Sonesse 28 motors, 7 years on PowerView motors where applicable. Remotes and hubs carry 3-year warranties. Rechargeable battery cassettes carry 2 years.
Our workmanship warranty
On top of the Comfortex warranty, we add our own lifetime workmanship guarantee. If a bracket pulls loose, a cordless mechanism needs servicing, or a custom-shape panel needs adjustment after the trim moves, we come back and fix it. The warranty is for the life of the original purchaser at the original install address.
